History Of KungFu/WuShu

Wushu is the original art of combat practiced throughout Chinese history. Literally
translated, “wushu” means “martial art” and is commonly referred to as “kung fu” in
Western civilizations. Wushu was originally established as an international sport in 1990  and recently was added as a medal event at the Asian Games. The sport was demonstrated during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and competitors are striving to add wushu as an internationally recognized Olympic sport.
In ancient and modern Chinese Kung-Fu it has always consisted of several key elements in its techniques –kicking, punching, throwing and gripping (joint locking). It is not only for the purpose of self-defense, or offense in a dire situation, but fundamentally, it also enhances the healthiness of human being’s mind and body.
